🎮 Welcome to the Splatoon Euro Leagues (SEL) website. SEL is an initiative aimed at uniting European Splatoon leagues under a single banner to promote national and European Splatoon leagues and tournaments.

🎯 Our Objectives
- Create a shared structure for local Splatoon leagues across Europe.
- Facilitate the creation and management of local Splatoon leagues throughout Europe.
- Encourage collaboration between different local communities.
- Organize interleague competitions to strengthen gameplay and competitive spirit.
- Promote Splatoon esports on a European scale by increasing visibility for players and teams.
SEL is led by the French association eSportBrosTV, with the support and collaboration of other leagues that join the initiative and take part in its governance.
🏗️ Structuring and Growing National Communities in Europe
Unlike other major Splatoon regions such as North America, Japan, or Oceania, Europe is divided into many countries and languages, which makes it harder to foster a sense of belonging to a united European community.
We’ve observed that the largest competitions in Europe, in terms of participation, are national tournaments that mainly gather players of the same nationality—whether online (like the EBTV League or DSB) or in-person (such as Fullwipe and Breeze).
We believe that league-type competitions are the most effective at structuring communities. They allow each team to compete over the long term, with major weekly Splatoon matches against other teams of similar skill. Community members identify with their division. Moving up or down divisions over time becomes a marker of a team’s and individual players’ progress. National leagues are also the ideal entry point for new players: they are accessible in their native language and adapt to different skill levels and expectations.
Therefore, we want to see more leagues develop in other countries or regions across Europe, following the example of EBTV (France) and DSB (Germany).
The main goals of these leagues are:
- Welcoming teams and distributing them across skill-based divisions
- Organizing matches and supporting teams on a day-to-day basis
- Highlighting teams and players through match coverage and social media outreach
We offer to support national/regional communities in launching, organizing, and broadcasting their leagues. Through Splatoon Euro Leagues, ebTV can share experience on the following topics:
- Setting up a Discord server dedicated to the local competitive scene
- Structuring the competition
- Broadcasting the tournament
- Managing communication on social media
- Providing visual identity / graphic design
- Supplying automated tools to assist with tournament management
- Offering financial support for cash prizes, art prizes, or other rewards
We want to emphasize that we hope to see strong, independent local structures emerge, with governance and staff drawn from within their own community. We don’t intend to take responsibility for the national leagues themselves—our aim is purely to offer support, guidance, advice and tools to facilitate the organization and smooth running of the leagues.
🤝 Uniting National Communities Across Europe
Next, our goal is to bring each league, their teams, and their communities closer together through a shared plafeforme, a shared Discord server and joint competitions.
For example, we aim to create an additional experience at the end of the national leagues—something exciting both for the participating teams and for spectators. The idea would be to synchronize the schedules of national leagues, and have each division champion from the national leagues qualify for a new European-level competition, where they would represent their community against other champions. This would help foster friendly rivalries among European communities and build excitement around the champion teams who proudly carry the flag of their local scene.
It would essentially expand on the 2025 Champions Matches between DSB (Germany) and EBTV (France), by including additional leagues or different types of competitions open to all league teams.
We fully recognize that there may be skill-level differences between the various leagues. One of our goals is to propose competition formats that are inclusive and enable the development of teams from all across the European community.
We propose to co-organize, alongside all the relevant national leagues, this shared competition space—where each league can play an important role in organizing, guiding their teams, and broadcasting their matches to their community.
In addition to bringing together European players, we aim to unite the dedicated staff members across communities to lay the foundation for a new kind of collaboration. We firmly believe that on a European scale, we are stronger by coming together, supporting one another, and finally giving life to the European Splatoon community!
🚀 Join us on this new adventure!
SEL is a long-term project. We’re already working with staff from France (EBTV), Germany (DSB), Spain, Nordics countries, and Switzerland to bring our communities together under this shared initiative.
